Black-Eyed Bhel ~ Bhelpuri with a twist!

In this jet era, many times we find ourselves short of time and due to this lack of time, often lean towards unhealthy food. Leading a healthy life is a challenge nowadays and food recipes that are rich in nutrition but take little time to prepare are the most searched queries on the Internet.

Today's recipe is a perfect blend of nutrition rich ingredients and a quick preparation procedure. It is lip smacking tasty and very easy to make.




Black-eyed Bhel contains Black-Eyed Peas (Lobia/Rongi), Roasted Gram (Roasted Chana), Puffed Rice (Murmure), Beetroot (Chukandar), Tomato, Onion and lemon.

Rich in Iron, Protein, Magnesium, Potassium, Vitamins and Dietary Fiber with absolutely no-oil and saturated fats, this recipe can be eaten any time, provides us energy and is filling so it helps in weight loss too. Black Salt used here is again very healthy and helps in improving digestion, weight loss, controls sugar levels and improves anaemia.


Black -eyed Bhel Recipe:


Ingredients:



4 cups Puffed Rice (Murmure),
4 cups boiled Black-Eyed Peas (Lobia/Rongi),
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes,
1/2 cup finely chopped onion,
1 cup grated Beetroot (Chukandar),
1/2 lemon,
1 cup Roasted Gram (Roasted Chana),
(Optional) 1 cup mixed Namkeen (dry salted savouries),
2 Tbsp Tamarind Chutney (Imli Chutney),
1 Tbsp Coriander Chutney (Dhania Chutney),
Black Salt to taste
   

Steps to prepare Black -eyed Bhel: 

1) Add all ingredients in a large bowl.

2) Add lemon juice, chutneys, black salt and mix well.

3) Serve in a serving dish and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. You can also carry it to office or school.
